Sorry, Sorry , Sorry

I apologize for not having posted for a while. Unfortunately, I have had a number of "technical" glitches, including losing all my pictures of my Hogwarts swap package so I will have to re-gather those items (what hasn't been eaten anyway) for their pictures. But it also seems that time has just gotten away from me. Anyway, I'm so sorry it has taken so long to get these up but it doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed them immensely. So, without further ado, I acknowledge recent swap packages.

Fall Felted Bag Exchange

I received an awesome package from Mary for the Fall Felted Bag Exchange. She is from Vegas, hence the dice, a lovely cookbook, notepad, picture frame, teas and hardware for the bag. A darling calendar, kitty treats and a beautiful skein of Malabrigo.
And the most amazing bag! It is the first crocheted felted item I have seen and the colors couldn't be more perfect. What an amazing amount of time and effort she put into this. And it is for my new laptop. Couldn't be more perfect!
Sorry for the colors- the bag is much more vibrant than it shows here. Thank you so much, Mary! You put so much time and thought into this and I have really appreciated it.

Yarn Junkies 8-Orange

Here is my swap-y goodness from Heather for Yarn Junkies 8-Orange. All kinds of fantastic hand spun textures in shades of orange as well as orange chocolates, a much needed new mug and some very cool stitch markers.

I'm going to work up a magic ball wrap using these yarns. It will be so much fun and so perfect for my taste. Thank you so much Heather!

SP11 Goodies

I received my final package from my SP11 spoiler, Elin, from Australia. She has sent me some lovely Malabrigo, an Australian mag, tasty treats and Briar Rose, a pattern by Ysolda in my previous packages.

Well, she certainly took the time to get to know me because she sent me some fantastic and much wanted items this time.

This is how they came out of the package.

And after opening all the goodies, I have some beautiful yarn by Colinette and Rowan, an Elizabeth Zimmerman book, a pair of Fetching in purple, some purple soap that smells divine and some more tasties.
Thank you so much Elin. You have been a great SP11 partner.

A Different Feather & Fan Scarf

I don't know how many times someone has complained that a feather & fan scarf, while beautiful, is not symmetrical. I also don't like that, in a scarf, you don't always get to see the wave pattern as well because there is usually only one pattern repeat. So, to solve those 2 problems, I present:

A Different Feather & Fan Scarf
Finished size 9" X 64"
Materials:
1 skein Murano
size #13 needles
1 stitch holder
Pattern:
Row 1: K3, yo, k1, yo, ( k2tog) 4X, yo, (k1, yo) 3X, ( k2tog) 4X, yo, k1, yo, k3.
Row 2: K3, purl to last 3, k3.
Rows 3 & 4: Knit.

For first half (make 2):
Cast on 27 sts and knit 4 rows. Work pattern repeat 31 times, then repeat rows 1 & 2 once more. Place on holder. Make second half the same way. Return first half to needle, being sure that needles are pointing in the same direction when the two halves are held together. Kitchener/graft the two halves together or 3 needle bind off. Weave in ends.
Enjoy!
